Sports are some of the most celebrated activities today. For the payers however, it's important that they stay protected at all times more so if it's a contact sport such as football, baseball, hockey, boxing and so forth. Since there is a lot of hitting going on, tooth injuries such as breaks, chips and concussions are a mainstay. Therefore, a player should always keep themselves protected at all times. Here are some ways they can do this.

Mouth Guards

Although it's not mandatory to wear mouth guards in many sports, it is important to look out for your own interests and protect the teeth, jaw and moth. Mouth guards help keep the sections of your head in the right order so that it's easier to take on the hits without compromising on your smile. However, you should know that not all of them are made the same. Custom mouth guards do a much better job protecting the mouth than over the counter ones. Although the custom mouth guards are a bit expensive, they are worth every penny. Your mouth will be scanned so that the mouth guard can fit your mouth perfectly unlike the store bought ones which are made from a universal mold.

Facial Cage

Statistics show that about 21% of all brain injuries happen during recreational activities or sports. As such, it is important to protect this part because damage to the brain can severely decrease your quality of life. The facial cage protects your face, teeth and mouth from the potential trauma thereby helping you stay safer on the field.

Helmets

If yours is a high paced impact sport, you may want to get fitted for a helmet. Sports such as hockey, skating, or football require a helmet for the crucial protection of your head and mouth. This is why it is extremely important to have a well-fitting helmet. This can significantly reduce the chances of being injured seriously while playing the game you love!
